Usage Instructions
Preparation:
- Surface Assessment: Ensure the substrate is structurally sound, dry, clean, and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, paint, curing compounds, and any other substances that may impede adhesion.
- Temperature Conditions: The substrate temperature should be between 65°F (18°C) and 90°F (32°C).
- Substrate Profiling: For non-porous or glass-like concrete surfaces, mechanically profile the substrate to an ICRI concrete surface profile (CSP) #2 to #3 standard using methods such as shotblasting or diamond grinding.
Application:
- Trowel Selection: Remove the clip-on trowel attachment provided inside the pail. Select the appropriate trowel notch size based on the flooring type and desired spread rate.
- Adhesive Application: Using the flat side of the trowel, key the adhesive into the subfloor to form a continuous film. Immediately spread the adhesive with the notched side of the trowel, holding it at a 60° to 90° angle to ensure 100% coverage without voids.
- Working Time: Only apply as much adhesive as can be covered within 45 minutes to prevent premature curing.
- Flooring Installation: Place the flooring material into the adhesive, pressing firmly to ensure full contact. Roll the installed flooring with a 100-pound roller to ensure proper adhesive transfer and eliminate air pockets.
- Curing Time: Protect the installation from light traffic for at least 12 hours and from heavy traffic for at least 24 hours to allow the adhesive to cure properly.
Cleanup:
- Immediately remove any adhesive smudges using a solvent-based urethane cleaner while the adhesive is still fresh.
- Note: Once cured, the adhesive is extremely difficult to remove. Do not use water for cleanup.
